Your firm’s assistant, with the other ways to power the assistant
The assistant’s Settings now opens on one question: what answers when you ask. Built-in, your own AI (a key, a company endpoint or a local model) or your firm’s assistant (Claude, Copilot or Cursor over MCP), each with the route a question takes drawn under it. The header names whichever is answering, the firm’s assistant shows its recent requests and a switch for letting it propose edits, and it replaces File › Bridge. Setup for each assistant is on the AI page.
Work packages on the schedule
A Packages tab groups the schedule into work areas, construction packages and installation, engineering, procurement and fabrication packages, held as P6 activity codes, with list import, rules, AI proposals and Mirror to WBS. Constraints are P6 issues with need-by dates and a release gate that keeps the reason for any override. Look-ahead shows the weeks ahead and the backlog; Field pack prints a pack for the crew and makes an offline form whose progress reads back. Path of Construction orders the areas and plans need dates back from them, with a register of constructability ideas. Systems adds turnover chains, test pack holds, pre-commissioning steps and brownfield checks. Measures adds the backlog, release ahead of need, productivity, the S-curve, the skyline, a self-assessment and a PDF. In 4D, colour by area, package, IWP state or system, and make an IWP from a selection. Lists and plot plans are read in the browser and kept in the saved schedule; the XER round trip stays lossless.
4D: steadier, and from the keyboard
Cancel now stops a clash check at once, and a model being opened never waits behind one. A 3D view that cannot be built says why and offers Try again. With the view focused, the arrow keys step through the linked activities in the order they start, and Enter goes to Link to activity. Link and rule edits repaint the links in place, within 50 ms at 50,000 elements. After an edit, the risk views say the run is older than the last edit, and finished work shows its actual finish at every percentile. Weekly frames are zipped without holding every picture in memory, and a live session sends a schedule of any ordinary size, in parts, between current versions of the app.
4D: a video of the run, and showing less
Record video plays the whole run into a video file, and Weekly frames saves a picture for each Monday, plus the first and last day, as a zip. Each has the date burned in on an opaque background, for a report or a tender. Show narrows the 4D view to the selected activities, a WBS branch, a storey, a system or a week, without rebuilding the model; This week takes the week holding the slider date.
4D: clashes found on your machine, and BCF out
Find clashes checks hard clashes triangle by triangle, clearance within a distance you set, duplicates, sequence clashes, which are work the schedule builds before what holds it up, each offered a logic link as the fix, previewed before it applies, and workspace clashes, the stacked trades of the crew view. By default, hard and clearance clashes count only when the work overlaps in time. Each keeps a status, Open, Accepted or Fixed, and the list goes out with Export CSV, or with Export BCF as a BCF 2.1 file for other BIM tools (workspace clashes are in the CSV only), written in the browser.
4D: risk and crews on the model
After a risk run, the 4D view can show the building with every activity at its own P50 or P80 dates, or colour each part by the chance it is finished by the slider date. Crew on site (avg heads/day) colours each zone by its labour over the week holding the slider date, and lists stacked trades, week commencing each Monday: two or more trades from different activities in one zone on the same day. It appears once a labour resource is assigned.
4D: edit the schedule from the model
Select elements and choose Build after or Move to week, or use Sequence bottom-up to chain one class of work storey by storey. Each shows the new finish and the DCMA score, run on a copy, before you apply it as one undo step. Link edits made in 4D now reach everyone in a live session.
4D: the critical path in the building
Show driving path lights the chain of activities that drives the selected element and ghosts the rest; Step along path walks it in order. Colour by Total float paints the model in four bands, with finished work in grey, and hovering an element shows its activity, dates, float and what drives it.
4D: linked in minutes
Each take-off line gets a suggested activity marked High, Medium or Low, with the reasons. Accept all high-confidence takes the sure ones in one step and Next to review walks the rest. When your corrections follow a pattern, the rule they imply is offered as one click. Click or box-select elements in 3D to link them, or create the activity from them.
4D: the data date, and the baseline beside
A mark on the 4D slider shows the data date, and work shown as done only because of forecast dates is tinted lighter. Compare with baseline puts the current schedule and the active baseline side by side, with one camera and one slider.
4D: fast on big models, without losing quality
The 4D view draws the model in a few large chunks and recolours it in place, so moving the slider or editing a link never rebuilds it. On a synthetic model of a million triangles a slider move takes about 3 ms of script, and playback ran with no main-thread task over 50 ms. Geometry is never simplified and antialiasing stays on.
4D links that survive the update
Links between the model and the schedule are kept by Activity ID, so a P6 update no longer breaks them. When it does rename or delete an activity, or a re-issued model changes, a report lists what moved and suggests the fix; rules link a whole storey or class at once, and two user fields carry the summary back into the XER.
PDF export, without the print dialog
File › Export PDF, or the button in Page Setup, writes the pages as a PDF file in your browser. Bars and text stay vector, Inter is embedded and the text is searchable, and the paper runs from A4 to A0 for a wall plot. The timeline splits across sheets exactly as the preview shows.
Live sessions through a relay
Behind a firewall that blocks direct connections, a live session can pass through a TURN relay your firm runs, entered once in File › Team. The relay forwards the connection encrypted end to end, so it cannot read the schedule. A tick box sends everything through it, to prove it works.
Bring your firm's own AI
File › Bridge lets Claude, Copilot or Cursor read the open schedule and propose edits over MCP, through a small program on your machine (npx aimavera-mcp). Read-only until you allow edits; proposals go through the same checks and wait as a card for you to apply.
IFC 4.3 export with the 4D links
File › Export IFC writes the schedule as an IfcWorkSchedule with tasks, WBS, logic and lags, and every model element the 4D view linked, named by its own GlobalId. A separate file: the XER stays the file of record.
A team library for calendars, codes and resources
File › Library shares them as files in your team folder. Each schedule says whether it matches the library, the library is newer, or it changed here. The portfolio now lists resources over-booked across programmes.
AI log and restore point
Project › AI log records every applied AI edit: what was asked, which model, what the checks let through, and the DCMA score either side. The schedule from before the first one is kept, and Restore puts it back as one undo step.
Public holidays by country
Calendars › Add public holidays fills a year for thirteen countries and regions, with each one's weekend substitute days. Eid follows the moon, so its expected dates are shown for you to add once announced.
Calendars that add working time
An imported worked Saturday now moves the dates instead of being quietly ignored, and it round-trips back into the file. Twenty-four-hour calendars write a real time.
Baseline bars, three ways
Position the baseline below, behind or above the current bar, at three heights, honoured on screen, in the PNG and in the printed PDF.
Faster at five thousand activities
A regroup builds only the lookups its levels ask for, and the chart draws relationships from an index of the visible rows rather than scanning every link each frame. A 5,000-activity programme scrolls in under 10 ms; a synthetic 10,000-activity programme in 9.7 ms median.
Filters
Named, saved, combinable filters with a criteria editor: sixteen fields, operators per kind, matching ALL or ANY, and twelve built in. Ticked filters union the way P6 does, they ride in layouts, and they name themselves in the printed filter note.
Schedule options
The P6 critical float threshold is a real setting on the project row: it exports with the file and it undoes. Baseline and critical bar colours are yours to set, and a high-contrast Classic theme joins light and dark on the theme toggle.
Excel export
Activities, Relationships and Assignments as three sheets with real Excel dates, written in the browser with no library.
Jump to any activity
The command palette finds an activity by ID or by name and takes you to it.
The dictionaries
A Resources window with labour, non-labour and material, each with unit, price, limit, calendar and role. Activity code values take colours, shown on bands and in the codes tree, and a right-click assigns codes and resources to every selected activity at once.
Page Setup
Paper sizes, orientation, margins, fit to pages or scale from 10 to 500 per cent, a tokenised three-section header and footer with your logo, print range, legend modes, and gridline and bar-label toggles. Bars print as vectors, and a paginated preview prints or saves as PDF. PNG export too.
Group & Sort
Up to five nested levels with band colours and sizes, totals, summary bars and hide-if-empty, a three-key sort that keeps the hierarchy, and per-level folding with Ctrl and the numeric plus or minus.
Timescale
Two to four header rows with their own units and date formats, ordinal "Day 1" dates for shutdowns, interval dividers, a zoom slider and the P6 presets.
Windows
Dialogs float, drag and resize the way P6's do. Activity codes, Calendars, Quality, Timescale, Group & Sort, Page Setup, Filters and Resources all use them.
Knowledge folder
Grant the assistant read access to one folder — specs, past programmes, standards, rate tables. It lists, outlines, reads and searches for itself, within a budget, and nothing goes anywhere but to the model you chose. Needs a browser with a folder picker: Chrome and Edge today.
Draft from a specification
A spec is read by CSI MasterFormat section: the index is built from the pages, the model picks the sections a planner needs, and only those are read — the general and execution parts, not the product catalogue. Saved as .md so the PDF is read once.
A prior schedule as template · Time impact…
Attach an XER and switch it to template mode: its WBS and logic become the worked example the draft sequences from. Time impact… models a delay event as a fragnet in a scenario and reports it the AACE 52R-06 way: new finish, float consumed, activities pushed.
Streaming replies
The assistant's reply streams in, can be stopped, and thinks briefly in chat.
Quality tab
Check quality unfolds each DCMA check to the activities that fail it, proposes the fix where there is one obvious fix, and applies the ticked ones as one undoable batch. Profile ▾ swaps the thresholds; Review ▸ walks a check one item at a time.
Blank sheet
Start from nothing: New in the ribbon, and export what you build as a P6 XER or MS Project XML.
One top bar
A 56 px ribbon with icons and one dock for activity details, resources and every analysis panel. Cmd/Ctrl+K opens any command by name.
Risk, complete
The register, correlation and branching, weather, cost risk, calibration, kept runs and the QSRA/QCRA report.
Update Existing Project
Merge a new file into the open schedule. Activity codes have a dictionary; the WBS tree drags and drops.
